SECURE US PERSONAL ACCIDENT COVER 

TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE POLICY WORDING 

WHAT YOU ARE COVERED FOR 

In return for paying your monthly premium to the Insurer, Auto & General Insurance Company Limited will pay  a benefit should an accident cause your: 

• Death,  

• Permanent Total Disability (PTD); 

• Temporary Total Disability (TTD) 

In addition, a single benefit payment will be made towards emergency expenses arising from the accidental  Injury or death.

PERIOD OF INSURANCE AND PREMIUMS 

Cover commences once you have paid your first premium. Cover is ongoing, subject to timeous payment of  monthly premiums. Premiums are payable by you on a monthly basis. If you do not pay monthly premium on  the due date, you have a grace period of 15 days within which to pay the premium. Premiums must be made  on a continuous monthly basis to ensure uninterrupted cover. Non-payment of the premiums will lead to the  cancellation of the policy subject to Rule 15A of the Policyholder Protection Rules. 

CRISIS CONCIERGE COVER (A value-added service offered through AAA Technologies)  Crisis Concierge Cover offers 24-hour support for any emergency situation such as:  o Medical or safety related incidences (requiring ambulance, medical evacuation etc); o Service related dispatch (requiring car towing, a plumber/electrician etc); and o Panic push button security alerts (dispatching police and security assistance). • Crisis Concierge Cover links you directly to over 100 emergency responders nationwide, via the Emergency  and Response Centre (ERPC). 

• The location tracking technology allows the dispatch of the closest and most relevant support for your  particular emergency situation. 

• Any emergency related to You can be reported.  

• Where required you will have private medical evacuation to the nearest appropriate hospital, plus  advanced life support if required (max value R7 000). (Any additional costs for the your account).  • Each case is handled on an individual basis guaranteeing you are well looked after during the crisis, with  follow up calls post the event ensuring all is in order. 

EXCLUSIONS OF THE POLICY - WHAT YOU ARE NOT COVERED FOR 

We will not pay a claim where Your death or injury occurs: 

i) whilst or as a result of participation in: 

ii) Mountaineering necessitation the use of ropes; 

iii) Big game hunting; 

iv) Sport as a paid profession, polo on horseback, steeple chasing, parachuting, winter sports involving snow  or ice, ice hockey, skydiving or hang gliding; and  

v) Speed or duration tests or racing (other than on foot, on a bicycle or in a yacht); 

vi) whilst riding a motor cycling, motor quad cycling or motor tri-cycling;  

vii) whilst traveling in an aircraft: 

a. not licensed for the carriage of passengers;  

b. piloted by a person not licensed for the purpose for which it was being used; 

c. as a member or acting member of the crew for trade or technical operation connected with the  aircraft; 

viii) from an incident occurring outside of the Territorial Limits above;  

ix) whilst being under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, unless prescribed by a medical  practitioner other than the member themselves and taken in accordance with medical advice; x) as a result of participation in any riot, civil commotion, labour disturbance, strike or lockout or public  disorder or any act or activity which is calculated or directed to bring these about; 

xi) through natural causes; 

xii) through wilful misconduct, intentional self-injury or suicide;  

xiii) from any serious physical or mental defect or infirmity from which the Insured Person was suffering  before the incident; 

xiv) from minor accidents sustained in day-to-day living; 

xv) more than 12 months after the accident; and  

xvi) whilst performing or attempting to perform: 

a. any act whether on behalf of any organisation, body or group of persons calculated or directed to  overthrow or influence any State or government, or any provincial, local or tribal authority with  force, or by means of fear, terrorism or violence; and 

b. any act which is calculated or directed to bring about destruction or damage or bodily injury in  order to further any political aim, objective or cause, or to bring about any social or economic  change or in protest against any State or government or any provincial, local or tribal authority or  for the purpose of inspiring fear in the public or any section thereof. 

In addition, the first R500 of emergency expenses is for your own account.  

WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM 

In the event of a claim in terms of the policy, you must, as soon as reasonably possible after the event, report  the incident to Monitor Administrators by:
